It is with great pleasure and excitement that I formally announce Mrs. Mae Ward, as the new Vice Principal at Millburn Middle School. Mrs. Ward will be taking over for Mr. Daniel Brundage, who has served as the Middle School Vice Principal for the past 7 years. While we are sorry to see Mr. Brundage leave the Middle School, we are happy for him and wish him the very best as he enters the next chapter of his life, retirement. We are fortunate to welcome Mrs. Ward to the administrative team at the Middle School. She will be a great addition.
Mae Ward has worked with in the Millburn Township Public Schools for the past 14 years, having taught and developed curricula for all levels of Spanish for both High School and Middle School. She started her career at Millburn High School in 2005 and moved to the Middle School after ten years to gain additional perspective on teaching by working with younger students.
In the Middle School, her contributions include serving as a Team Leader to work with colleagues and parents to meet the needs of students. In addition, Mrs. Ward has been an active member of various initiatives to move the district forward. She has been heavily involved in Future Ready, Challenge Success, Professional Learning Communities, and the Leadership Committee which is working to improve school culture and climate.
Mrs. Ward’s passion for teacher leadership and continuous professional learning, and her interest in advancing student social-emotional learning as well as academics fuel her desire to promote instructional innovation. Mrs. Ward earned a Masters in World Language Education from Rutgers University and also earned a Masters in Educational Leadership from The College of Saint Elizabeth.
Please join me in congratulating Mrs. Ward on her new position. We are excited to welcome her as part of our administrative team.
