Start Strong Parent Letter
Dear Parents/Guardians,
The New Jersey Department of Education is requiring all school districts to administer the Start Strong Assessments this fall. The Start Strong Assessments are intended to produce information that should be used as a standards-based complement to the resources used by educators in their classrooms to evaluate the needs of students. On April 6, 2021, the US Department of Education informed the NJDOE that the administration of Start Strong assessments in fall 2021 would satisfy the federal statewide assessment requirement in English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, and Science for the 2020-2021 school year. These assessments do not, however, replace the normal spring assessments that will be required in 2022 for the 2021-22 school year.
