Earth Day Celebration Lunch 4/22/19

Monday,  April 22, 2019, is Earth Day.   In celebration of Earth Day, MMS will allow students to eat their lunches outside on the backfield during their regularly scheduled lunch period.

CONVERSATION ON DIVERSITY, IDENTITY, AND SOCIAL JUSTICE

TUESDAY, APRIL 2, 7 – 9 PM

MILLBURN HIGH SCHOOL AUDITORIUM

Millburn School District parents, staff, middle & high school students, and community
members are invited to an engaging and educational evening with Dr. Khyati Joshi,
Director, Institute for Teaching Diversity & Social Justice and Professor at
Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Please join us as we:
• Share the district’s work with Dr. Joshi to support our teachers and staff in
promoting the creation of school environments free from the distractions of
prejudice, stereotypes, and bias.


• Understand how identity development and bias impact our students and
community in everyday life


• Provide solutions that promote social justice and inclusiveness:
o Talking to our children about bias language and expression
o Fostering a community that does not accept intolerance

Conversation on Diversity, Identity & Social Justice

March is Youth Art Month

Enjoy the creative accomplishments of students from al 8 Millburn Schools at the K-12 art exhibit at the Education Center, 434 Millburn Avenue, all month long!

Millburn High School to present Pops Concert - March 28

The Music Department of Millburn High School presents the annual Pops Concert on Thursday, March 28 at 7:30 P.M. in the high school auditorium. This concert is free and open to the public. The concert will feature the Jazz Band and Pops Strings. Music selections include composers Henry Mancini, Thad Jones, Leroy Anderson, Billy Strayhorn and Charles Mingus. Letter to Parents of 5th Grade Students

Dear Parents of Fifth Grade Students:


On behalf of the faculty and administration at Millburn Middle School, I would like to welcome all of you to our school community! This our first official communication to you as we begin to prepare for the transition of your child(ren) from the Washington School to Millburn Middle School.  Middle School is an important time of transition in the life of preadolescents, and I am confident that our middle school teaching staff, curriculum, and programs will provide your child with so many great and enriching opportunities to grow in every way.
