Sam Maietta, 6th Grade Guidance Counselor

With over 17 years of experience as a high school counselor, Sam Maietta brings a systems-oriented and student-focused mindset to Millburn Middle School. Currently serving as the 6th grade counselor, Sam plays a leadership role in transition activities and NJTSS implementation. His collaborative approach and experience across grade levels allow him to support students and staff through both academic and emotional transitions.

His leadership and dedication provide a strong foundation for students as they begin their middle school journey.

Lisa Marron, 7th Grade Guidance Counselor

Lisa Marron has been a trusted counselor for over 14 years and is in her ninth year at Millburn Middle School. Ms. Marron is currently supporting the 7th grade class. She is deeply involved in student programming, from Dialogue Night to Career Day, and serves on multiple teams including I&RS, 504, and the Mental Health Committee. Lisa is known for her proactive counseling style, strong connections with families, and her commitment to supporting every student’s social-emotional growth and academic resilience.

Her ability to foster strong partnerships with students, staff, and families makes her an essential part of the middle school community.

Lauren Bach, 8th Grade Guidance Counselor

Now in her 10th year as a school counselor and her 9th year at Millburn Middle School, Mrs. Lauren Bach brings experience, warmth and dedication to her role as the 8th grade counselor. She holds a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from St. Elizabeth University, along with a Master's in Social and Emotional Learning, reflecting her deep commitment to the academic and emotional growth of her students.

Mrs. Bach helps lead the I&RS process, oversees 504 documentation, manages her grade-level guidance Google Classroom, and is a key participant in all 8th grade team meetings. Known for building strong, meaningful relationships with students and maintaining open, consistent communication with families and teachers, she is a trusted partner in the school community.

Her proactive counseling style and thoughtful use of data ensures that each student receives the support they need to succeed throughout middle school and beyond.
